At least five people were injured in a factional clash over distributing dormitory seats at Begum Rokeya University Rangpur (BRUR) on Thursday.
Police and general students said that the supporters of the university’s BCL secretary general Kamrul Hasan Nobel and
BCL president Imtiaz Basunia locked into clash over the issue, leaving five students injured.
Later, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
However, the university’s BCL president and secretary general claimed that BNP, Jamaat supporters locked into the clash using name of Chhatra League.
Following the clash, a three member probe committee has been formed.
ABM Jahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station said that additional police forces have been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward situations.
