5 Bangladeshis killed in KSA road crash

Five Bangladesh nationals, all hailing from Cox’s Bazar district, were killed and two others suffered wounds in a road accident in Makkah, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. Bangladesh Ambassador in Riyadh M Shahidul Islam confirmed UNB over phone about the casualties in the accident.
The Bangladeshis were killed in the accident when two passenger vehicles hit each other at a time between 6:30 and 7:30am (local time) near Al Hijra Street in Makkah. Bangladesh Counsellor (Labour) in Jeddah M Mokammel Hossain told the agency that two Saudi citizens were also killed in the accident. He said the Bangladeshi victims were primarily identified as Faridul Alam, M Alam, Ayub, Mansur Alam, and Nazir Hossain.
Mokammel Hossain said one of the two Bangladeshi injured has been released after primary medication while the rest is under treatment. However, the names of the two injured Bangladeshis could not be known yet.
The bodies of the victims now have been kept in hospital, Hossain said adding the decision will be taken soon whether those will be sent back home for burial or be buried in Saudi Arabia after consultation with their respective families.
