Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) and district police in separate raids arrested five bus passengers including three female with 1500 Yaba tablets and 25 litres of liquor from city’s Shah Amanat Bridge area and Lohagara Upazila early Tuesday.
The arrestees were identified as Giash Uddin, 30, Mohammad Alam,23, both hailing from Chokoria upazila of Cox’s bazar district, Mahamuda Akter,40, Baby Akter,21 and Nasima Akter,22, all from Lama upazila of Cox’s bazar district. Bakalia thana police on secret information raided a bus of Shyamoli transport service coming from Cox’sBazar at Shah Amanat Bridge area under Bakalia thana at 2.30 am early yesterday and arrested Giash and Alam with 1000 Yaba tablets, said Mohammad Mohsin, Officer-in-Charge of Bakalia police station. In another raid, Lohagara thana police stopped a passenger bus of Saudia Transport service coming from Cox’sBazar at Chunoti area on Chittagong Cox’s bazar highway under Lohagara thana at 11 am on Wednesday and arrested Mahamuda Akter, Baby Akter, and Nasima Akter, with 500 Yaba tablets and 25 litres liquor said Mohammad Shahjahan, Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara police station. Two separate cases were filed in this connection.
