Police arrested five men for allegedly gang raping a housewife in Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur.
The arrestees are Md Shamim Hossain, Ibrahim Hossain, Robbani Shikdar, Miraj Khandakar and Jahidul Islam Talukdar.
District police chief Hayatul Islam Khan said the incident took place on Thursday night at the upazila’s Dakkhin Gajipur area.
Police sources said eight people gang raped the victim in a garden owned by Salam Talukdar and Nabin Haoladar.
Khan said they are trying to arrest the other accused.
