The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday placed five members of Ansar Al Islam, a new militant outfit, on a four-day remand in a case filed with Sabujbagh Police Station.
Magistrate Shahidul Islam of the CMM Court of Dhaka passed the order after hearing on Monday.
The accused are: Nizam Uddin, 21, Raihan Bhuiyan, 20, Hanif Uddin Sumon, 19, Sheikh Iftekharul Islam alias Arif, 25 and Mufti Muslim Uddin alias Muslim, 27.
Earlier, Shohel Mahmud, Sub-Inspector of Counter- Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit, and also the investigation officer (IO) of the case produced the accused persons in the court seeking 10 days remand.
