Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have arrested five alleged members of banned militant outfit Ansar-al-Islam from Rupnagar area in the city.
RAB-4 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury confirmed the matter on Saturday.
He said on information, a team of elite force conducted a drive in the area around 11pm on Friday and detained the five persons.
