Staff Reporter :The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained five members of alleged new militant outfit Al Ansar in a house from the city’s Hazaribagh area on Wednesday. The arrested men have been identified as Mawlana Rashedul Alam, 25, Abu Bakar Monir, 23, Abdullah Al Mamun Mia, 20, Raisul Islam Rasel, 25, and Abdul Maleq, 35.They also seized huge amount of training-related equipments and Jihadi books, RAB official said.RAB-2 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohiuddin Ahmed claimed, “RAB members have raided a house based on information and arrested them with the books and materials.”Rashedul Alam is the chief coordinator of the outfit, the RAB official said. The arrested men were interrogated in connection with the militant activities, he said.A case has been registered in this connection, the CO added. Earlier, in the last week, the law enforcement agencies busted a militant hideout in city’s Kallyanpur.
