The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka on Thursday granted 3-day remand to quiz five militant outfit of Al Ansar, including its Chief Coordinator, arrested from the city’s Hazaribagh area on Wednesday.
Magistrate Mahmudul Hasan of the court passed the order after the hearing on Thursday afternoon.
The arrestees are- Moulana Md Rashidul Alam, Chief Coordinator of the outfit, Abdullah Al Mamun, Abu Bakar Monir, Raisul Islam and Abdul Malek, four other members of the militant group.
Hazaribagh Police Station Sub-Inspector
Nazrul Islam, who is also the Investigation Officer (IO), produced the detainees to the court seeking seven days’ remand for each of the detainee.
According to RAB-2, they conducted a raid on Wednesday morning and help the suspected militants from a house in the area.
Mufti Mahmud Khan, Director, Legal and Media Wing of RAB confirmed the detention, adding that many Jihadi books and training materials were recovered from the spot.
