Around 5 lakh 86 thousand people of Bangladesh over 40 plus years have been suffering from Glaucoma disease. If the affected people do not get proper treatment they can face blindness.
Associate Professor of Anwer Khan Modern Medical College and Hospital Dr Zakia Sultana said, “There is treatment of blindness. If cataract finds in anybody’s eye he/she can get cure of it. But in case of Glaucoma, it is difficult to get treatment of blindness. What is glaucoma? Responding to a question, Dr Zakia Sultana said, “There is a substance of liquid inside the eyes. The eyes of the other organs provide the necessary ingredients for keeping fresh and alive. The fixed rate of the fluid inside the eye and the left eye with a certain degree of pressure on the other ducts (pressure) balance. It is called Glaucoma.”
