Another 250kg bomb was found buried at the construction site of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s 3rd terminal on Monday.
Director at HSIA, Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, in a WhatsApp message said Bangladesh Air Force recovered the general purpose bomb from the third terminal construction site.
The bomb disposal unit of Air Force’s Bangabandhu Base soon rushed to the spot and defused the bomb, he said.
Later, the bomb was taken to a safe place for dismantling with necessary precautions.
Bomb experts believe it was dropped sometime during the country’s Liberation War in 1971, the message said.
On December 9, 14 and 19, workers found three 250kg bombs when they were excavating for construction work of the third terminal.
