4th int’l folk confce held at IU

4th International Folklore Conference was held at Islamic University (IU), Kushtia on Wednesday with enthusiasm and festivity mood.
IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed the conference as chief, guest, while its Folklore Studies Department Chairman Prof Dr M Saidur Rahman in the chair.
The conference was held at Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium on the campus which was organized by IU Folklore studies department.
Among others, education entrepreneur and former Minister of Ministry of Communication Syed Abul Hossain,
Rajshahi University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Abdus Subhan, Jatiya Kobi Kazi Nazrul Islam University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AHM Mustafizur Rahman, IU Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, its treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha, West Bengal fictionist Nilani Bera, Dean of Art of Diamond Harbour Women’s University Prof Tapan Mondal, Bangla Department Professor of Calcutta University Sanat Kumar Naskar, Faculty Member of Art and History of New Mexico University Demon Joshep Monteclar, Deputy Commissioner of Jhenaidah district Saroj Kumar Nath and Jhenaidah Poura Shabha Mayor Saidul Karim Mintu were present as special guests while Former Prof Emeritus Barun Kumar Chakraborty of Rabindra Bharoti delivered his speech as principal discussant.
Mustafizur Rahman, teacher of IU Folklore Studies Department delivered welcome speech. Around six hundred students of the department were attended the function. Lecturer of the Department Mousumi Akter Mou moderated the programme.
