4th BPO summit kicks off today

The fourth edition of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) summit kicks off today (Thursday) at the hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka, aiming to showcase possibilities and opportunities of the sector in local and international markets.
Prime Minister’s ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy is expected to inaugurate the two-day summit at 9.30am.
Post, Telecommunication and
Information Technology Minister Mustafa
Jabbar, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Secretary NM Zeaul Alam will also address the summit.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, State Minister or Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam and Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury are also the event speakers.
This year’s theme of the summit is ‘Transforming Service to Digital’.
Renowned local and international speakers are going to attend the
summit to share their learning and experience of BPO industries.
A total of 12 seminars and workshops will be held during the two-day summit.
Youth-based seminars and events to be arranged to ensure growth and
development of the country’s youth segment to strengthen the vision of
Digital Bangladesh, organisers said.
The ICT Division in collaboration with Bangladesh Association of Call Centre and Outsourcing is organising the summit.
The main objectives of the summit are to showcase the progress of Bangladesh in BPO from 2011-2019, enhance the local BPO industries, sensitize the government and financial sector to outsource their task to BPO so that additional 50000 jobs could be created on the way to 100,000 jobs by 2021.
