M. Manzoor Alam has completed four years of his office as Chittagong City Mayor on Tuesday .
The elected councilors also completed their tenure of four years . Advisor to the BNP Chairperson M Manzoor Alam has assumed charge of City Mayor on June 17, 2010 duly elected defeating the immediate past mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
In observance of the day , City Corporation chalked out daylong programmes s . The programmes include Khatme Quran, Milad Mahfil, special Munajat and Ziarat at Hajrat Shah Amanat Shah (RA) .
The anniversary day began on early morning on Tuesday after Fazr prayer by Manzoor Alam at his residence .
After Fazr prayer , he offered Ziarat at the grave of his mother and father in North Kattali in city and arranged Khatme Quran and Milad at Mostafa Hakim Bhaban where the exchanged views with the party leaders, workers , professionals and social personalities .
City Mayor came to City corporation office at 10 am and exchanged views with the officials, workers, CBA and Non-CBA leaders.
At about 12 noon, he went to Hazrat Shah Amanat Mazar sharif alongwith party leaders where he offered Zohr prayer there and offered ziarat at Mazar sharif. He participated the Milad Mahfil at Mosque adjoining mazar sharif. He prayed for the prospect of the country and nation as well as upliftment of the city corporation in the milad prayer. Among others, city BNP vice president Shamsul Alam, Vice president Abu Sufian , General Secretary Dr. Shahdat Hossain, Journalist Kochi, BNP leader Kazi Belal, Yasin Chowdhury, all councilors and senior officials of CCC were present at Mazar Ziarat and Milad Mahfil.
