Bangladesh Coast Guard in Chittagong recovered 48,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Dobashibazar area under Anwara upazila on either bank of river karnaphuli on Thursday.
Coast Guard sources said based on secret information, a team of coast guard personnel led by Lieutenant Commander M Forhad, commanding officer of CGS Taohid raided Dobashibazar area under Anwara Upazila at 6 am on Thursday and recovered 48 thousand pieces of Yaba tablets in an abandoned state.
Sensing the presence of BGB, the drug peddlers fled the scene leaving the yaba tablets on the spot, the sources said. Commander M Forhad said the Yaba tablets worth around Tk 3 crore were found in 20 packets in an abandoned house. The recovered Yaba tablets were handed over to Patenga thana police of CMP, sources said.
