Police, in special drives from Tuesday night to yesterday morning, arrested 47 persons including two drug traders on various charges and recovered 136 bottles of Phensidyl syrup and 10 pieces of Yaba tablets from eight upazilas of the district.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 10 persons including one drug trader with 26 bottles of Phensidyl syrup, Kalaroa police 11 persons, Tala Thana Police seven, Kaliganj police six, Shyamnagar police three, Assasuni police three, Patkelghata Thana police arrested three accused and Debhata Thana police arrested four including one drug traders with 10 pieces of Yaba tablets.
Meanwhile, Kaliganj Thana police in a drive recovered 110 bottles of Phensidyl syrup in an abandoned condition during the period.
