In separate anti-drug operations, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 47 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the city during last 24 hours ending 6 am on Tuesday.
According to a DMP statement issued yesterday, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted anti-drug raids in the city’s different areas in the capital city, seized drugs and arrested the drug sellers and abusers.
Police seized 439 grams of heroin, 34.750 kilograms of cannabis, 556 pieces of yaba, 289 bottles of local liquor, 20 bottles of phensidyle, five cane beer and 25 drug addictive injections from them, the statement added.
Police filed 37 cases against the arrestees in this connection with police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act.
