47 candidates in BFF election

A total of 47 candidates have been taking part for the 21 posts in the election of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). A number of 139 delegates will cast their votes in the upcoming election. The election will be held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city on October 3.
Earlier, 49 candidates submitted their nomination forms. On Saturday, Zakir Hossain Babul of Uttar Baridhara Club and Sayeedur Rahman Manik withdrew their nomination papers for the post of Members of the Executive Committee. Besides, Badal Roy withdrew his candidature for the post of President but he submitted his letter of withdrawal after the scheduled time. So, his candidature is officially valid. But his wife officially announced at the BFF House on Saturday that Badal Roy was not interested to take part in the election. She also urged to the delegates not to cast their votes in favour of Badal Roy.
Incumbent Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin is the candidate for the post of President, while Shafiqul Islam Manik is the opponent of him for the post.
Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, is the candidate for the post of Senior Vice-President, while Sheikh Md Aslam is his opponent for that post. Abdus Salam Murshedy is the candidate of Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin’s panel.
A total of eight candidates have been competing for the four posts of Vice-Presidents. Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP, Amirul Islam Babu, President of Bashundhara Kings Imrul Hasan and Chairman of Toma Group Ataur Rahman Manik are the candidates for the post of Vice-Presidents. They submitted their candidature in favour of Kazi Mahammad Salahuddin’s panel.
Tabith Awal, Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, Sheikh Maruf Hasan and Abdullah Al Fuad are the individual candidates for the posts of Vice-Presidents.
The 34 candidates have been taking part for the 15 posts of the Members of the Executive Committee.
Asaduzzaman Mithu of Jessore, Kamrul Hasan Milton of Sirajganj, Syed Riazul Karim of Youngmens Club of Fakirerpool, Imtiaj Hamid Sabuj of Rahmatganj MFS are the fresh candidates for the post of Members from Salahuddin-led panel. Rests of them are the incumbent Members of the Executive Committee.
