Chittagong district police in overnight special drives arrested 47 people including two Jamaat activists from different Upazilas of the district and Banalia area in the city on Thursday night.
Abdul Awal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district, said police detained two Jamaat activists from Satkania and Lohagara upazilas of the district for their alleged involvement in sabotage acts and vandalism.
The detainees also include 37 warrantees and 8 accused in regular cases; he said adding that, 462 litresof country-made liquors and 2700 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets were also recovered during the drives.
