Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Detective Branch (DB) have arrested at least 46 drug traders on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the capital.
Detective Branch of the DMP in association with the members of local police stations of the city carried out the drives separately on Monday and Tuesday.
During the drives, the law enforcers recovered 2,150 pieces of contraband Yaba pills, 2,500 grams of heroin, 13 kg of hemp, 103 can beer, 85 domestic wine and two litters of domestic wine, and 189 injections, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
A total of 38 cases were filed with different police stations under Narcotics Control Act, DC added.
