4,500 farmers get incentives for Aus farming in Narail

A total of 4,500 small and marginal farmers in three upazilas of the district got seeds and fertilizers free of cost under Agriculture Incentives Programme during Aus seasons.
The objective of the seeds and the fertilizers distribution among the farmers is to inspire them to cultivate Aus paddy at a low cost to strengthen the country’s food security, official sources said.
The seeds and fertilizers were distributed to the selected farmers of the district through the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) recently, office sources said.
Each of the farmers got 15 kg Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizers, 10 kg Muriate of Potash (MoP) and 5 kg of Aus seeds.
A total of 1,800 farmers were given incentives in Narail Sadar, 1700 farmers in Kalia upazila and 1,000 in Lohagara upazila, DAE sources said.
