Police arrested 45 Rohingyas from Mobarak Hossain’s rented house in Keshabpur Mollapara area on the north side of the BM Container Depot under Sitakunda Model Police Station at around 9.30pm on wednesday, according to a source
The arrested Rohingyas are: Md Saddam Hossain (25) Md Shah Alam (1) Md. Md. Shamchu Alam (20) Md. Janne Alam (28) Md Shafiq (1) Md. Ekram (25) Md Shafiq (28) Shahidul Amin (1) Asaduzzaman (1), MdBelal (1) Md Hashem (1) Osman (1) Nurul Islam (3) Md Rafiq (1) Azizur Rahman (3) Mdrich (3) Md Taher (3) Al Kamal (3) Md. 3) Alfaz (1) Md Idrisch (1) Yasin Arafat (12) Mansoor Alam (3) Abul Fayez (3) Ayub (3) Md(1) Md. Sitakunda Model Police Station reported that a group of Rohingya fleeing from Ukhia Rohinga camp in Cox’s Bazar were working at a local factory in Keshabpur Mollapara area under ward no. 9 of Sonaichari Union in Sitakunda. Sitakunda police were able to apprehend forty five people from Mobarak Hossain’s rented house at Keshbpur Mollapara.
The police think that the more Rohingya might be there.
Talking to some of the detained Rohingyas, it is reported that for the past few months, a couple of them have come together and started working for a monthly salary..
Sitakunda Model Police Station Officer-In-Charge Md. Delwar Hossain said preparations were underway to file a case against those arrested for illegal intrusion after confirming the incident. He said seven Rohingya detained will be sent to court in the afternoon.
General Chat Chat LoungSitakunda Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Shamim Sheikh said legal action will also be taken against these Rohingya refugees who fled Rohingya camp. The investigating officer also said that the Rohingyas are staying in Sitakunda and continuing the operation.
