Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets filed 4,484 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rules violation on the fifth day of ongoing Traffic Week.
Of the total cases, 469 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 100 for using hydraulic horn, seven for using hotter and beckon light and 32 others for using tinted glass while 1,116 cases were filed for having no driving license and 209 others for having no fitness certificates of the vehicles.
Police filed 2,458 cases against motorcycles and seized 77 others for violation of the traffic rules. Some 15 cases, including 13 video cases, were registered against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving. Of the total cases, 233 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 36 for using hydraulic horn, six for using hotter and beckon light and seven others for using tinted glass.
