438 MW power plant in Raozan soon

 Raozan will have 438 MW combined cycle power plant with the latest technology in the history of the country. The construction of this state owned power plant will save gas on the one hand and reduce the cost of production on the other. The new state owned power plant is going to be built on the site of the existing 420 MW power plant in Raozan.
The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement on Wednesday approved the proposal to build the new power plant. Project contractors have also been hired. Now the contract is left to be signed. Sepco-III Electronic Power Constructions Company Limited of China has been entrusted with the task of setting up the 4387 MW gas-fired power plant. The gas-based power plant will cost Tk 1.38 per unit.
Out of this project worth Tk 2,006 crore, construction of power plant alone will cost Tk 1800 crore.
 The project will save Tk 200 crore, said project director engineer Munshi Bashir Ahmed.
He said that the new 438 MW power plant to be built in Raozan will be the latest technology power plant in the country. It will be a model of advanced technology for the country. The most modern technology in Europe and America will be used in this power plant.
All equipment belongs to Siemens Company. Work on the new power plant will start within the next six months.
Additional Chief Engineer of Raozan Thermal Power Station Jasim Uddin Bhuiyan said the two thermal power plants in Raozan have a capacity of 420 MW with a capacity of 210 MW each.. Two of these units are currently closed. The new power plant will be built next to the two old units. A new 438 MW unit will run on two full units of gas.
