43 acres of land to be developed as tourism zone

Govt has taken initiatives to establish hotel, motel zone over 5 acres land at Patenga and 38 acres in Parki Beach in Chittagong . The land acquisition for these tourism project will begin within next two months .
This was disclosed in the second meeting of Chittagong Beach Management Committee chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mesbahuddin yesterday afternoon. Mentionable that following the directives of cabinet ministry, beach management committee was constituted in 2014 and the first meeting of the committee was held in October last. Superintendent of Tourist Police Hasan TAlukder , ward councilor Shafiul Alam, BMC member Kaiyum Shah, president of Patenga beach shop owners association Wahidul Alam presented a number of proposals inthe meeting, sourcess said.
 The meeting was told that large number of local residents will lose their paternal properties after acquisition of land in the beach area and proposed to built super city in the newly grown up silted land beside the beach coast.
