The 42nd Annual General Meeting of British American Tobacco (BAT) Bangladesh Company Limited was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Sunday.
Golam Mainuddin, Chairman, British American Tobacco Bangladesh presided over the AGM, said a press release.
A large number of shareholders attended the meeting and unanimously passed the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2014, the Directors’ Report and the Auditor’s Report.
The shareholders also approved the proposed dividend of Tk 55 (including Tk.10 per share as interim cash dividend) per share.
In 2014, the company contributed Tk 9,932 crore as value added tax, supplementary duty and other taxes to the national exchequer. This contribution makes BAT Bangladesh the highest taxpayer in the country across all segments.
