Warm clothes were distributed among 200 poorly helpless children in Kishoreganj sadar upazila under the initiative of Social Organisation Shapna Shikhor Paribar yesterday.
Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah-al-Mashud was present as Chief Guest. Kazi Tanim Khan presided over the programme. It was addressed among others by Ishakha International University Trusti Board Vice-Chairman A.K.M Aminur Rahman, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Zila Parished Member Fouzia Jalil Nancy, Hindu Trust Board Member Ripon Roy Lipu, Fomer Kishoreganj Press Club General Secretary Saiful Malek Chowduhry its Assistant General Secretary Muniruzzaman Khan Chowdhury Sohel and CAB Secretary Monoar Hossain Rony.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Distribution of 4,000 pieces of blankets among the cold-hit poor and distressed people of Rangpur, Nilphamari, Thakurgaon, Lalmonirhat and Panchagarh districts completed on Friday. Executive Vice-chairman of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority Amalendu Mukherjee completed the distribution process at a function held today at Syedpur office of RDRS Bangladesh in Nilphamari district as the chief guest, a press release said.The blankets were distributed under the microfinance programmes of RDRS Bangladesh under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes to mitigate sufferings of the cold-hit people.
Executive Director of the Credit Development Forum Md Abdul Awal attended the faction as special guest with Executive Chairman of non-governmental development organisation RDRS Bangladesh Mohammad Enamul Kabir in the chair.
Director (Micro Finance) of RDRS Bangladesh Humayun Khaled delivered welcome speech saying that blankets are being distributed among cold-stricken people of the northern districts under their CSR activities during the past four years.
Programme Coordinator of RDRS Bangladesh for Nilphamari KM Rashedul Arefeen and Senior Programme Manager (Microcredit) Golam Mostafa also attended the function moderated by Micro-credit Coordinator Gautam Kumar Halder.
Amalendu Mukherjee highly lauded the micro-credit activities being conducted by RDRS Bangladesh along with providing trainings to unemployed, poor and distressed women to make them self-reliant through income generation activities in the northern districts.
