42 rivers marked rise, 37 fall

Water levels in 42 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 37 stations recorded fall.
Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at 42 monitored river stations are flowing above their respective danger marks, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Friday.
The Teesta at Dalia, the Ghagot at Gaibandha, the Brahmaputra at Chilmari, the Jamuna at Bahadurabad, Sariakandi, Sirajganj and Aricha are flowing above their danger marks 2cm, 25cm, 8cm, 67cm, 15cm and 2cm while the Atrai at Baghabari, the Dhaleswari at Elasin, the Lakhya at Lakhpur, Padma at Goalundo, Sureswar, Surma at Sunamganj, the Kangsha at Jariajanjail and Old Surma at Derai are flowing above their respective danger levels by82cm, 55cm, 33cm, 11cm, 0cm, 10cm, 21cm and 0cm.
All major river systems except Brahmaputra and upper Meghna are in rising trend, the bulletin added.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in
different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Friday.
A total of 44 mm were recorded at Dalia, 57.5mm at Panchagarh, Chittagong at 52mm, 98mm at Khulna and 275mm at Sunamganj.
