Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives seized 42kg hemp and 264 bottle of Phensidyl from different bordering areas of the district from Monday night to early Tuesday.
Lt Col Mohammad Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49 Battalion in Jashore, said tipped of, a team of BGB conducted a drive in 1 no Ghiba area around 10pm on Monday and chased a gang of drug trader.
After being chased, they fled the scene leaving a bag.
Searching the bag, the BGB team recovered the hemp.
Besides, another team seized the Phensidyl worth Tk 5.25 lakh from Benapole border around 4:30am.
