An official of Mirpur Model Police Station in the capital yesterday (Wednesday) submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka in the case filed against 42 leaders and activists of BNP-led 20 party alliance for vandalism, arson and explosion of cocktail in Mirpur area.
Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Islam submitted the charge to the court of Magistrate Yusuf Hossain. The accused leaders include BNP Standing Committee
member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, BNP Chief’s adviser Mosaddek Ali Falu, Joint Secretary Generals Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Aman Ullah Aman , BNP Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, BNP Chief’s Special Assistant Shamsuzzaman Shimul Biswas and City BNP Member Secretary Habibunnabi Khan Sohel.
The case record says that on January 28, Assistant Sub-Inspector Khandaker Rajib Ahmed filed the case with Mirpur Model Police Station against the accused as they exploded cocktails and hurled brick-bates on an ongoing bus of the area to kill the passengers of the vehicle.
