The Income Tax Department has honored the 42 best taxpayers from Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachhari Hill District in the 2020-2021 tax year under 4 tax zones of commercial capital Chattogram.
The list has been published in a circular signed on November 15 by Nusrat Jahan Nisu, Senior Assistant Secretary, Branch-2 (Tax), Department of Internal Resources, Ministry of Finance.
The best taxpayers honored at Bangabandhu Hall of Agrabad World Trade Center on Wednesday by Chittagong City Corporation.
Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury was the Chief Guest and Chittagong Chamber President Mahbubul Alam was the special guest on the occasion. Convener of the Best Taxpayer Award Ceremony and Commissioner of Chittagong Tax Zone-1 Syed Mohammad Abu Daud will preside over the function.According to sources, a total of 12 long time taxpayers have been selected from Chittagong City Corporation, Chittagong District, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachhari Hill Districts. In addition, 16 top taxpayers, 6 female taxpayers and 6 young male taxpayers (under 40) have been elected.
Mohammad Ali Meher and Syed Abu Mohammad Shahjahan, long time taxpayers from Chittagong City Corporation tax zone. The highest tax payers are- Mohammad Kamal, Mohammad Nader Khan and Md. Nasir Uddin. The highest paying woman taxpayer is Jebun Nahar Islam. In addition, young men (under 40) the highest tax payer is Asif Mahmud.
Haji Bazal Ahmed and Md Nurul Islam have been elected taxpayers from Chattogram district for a long time. The three highest tax payers are- Engineer Md. Mohsin, Delwar Hossain and Md. Mainul Hasan. Jannatul Mawa is the highest paying female taxpayer and Mohammad Anwar Hossain is the highest paying taxpayer in the young male category.
Haji Mohammad Siddique and Muhammad Anwarul Islam are the long time tax payers in Cox’s Bazar. Highest taxpayer – Mohammad Ayub, Engineer. Alamgir and Muhammad Abu Kawsar. Rehena Begum is the highest tax payer and young men under the age of 40 have become Md. Ziabul.
