Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 41 people from Daulatpur border area in Benapole of the district yesterday morning.
The BGB arrested them from Daulatpur frontier area, just opposite the Daulatpur BGB camp, while they were crossing the Isamoti River in Indian part by a boat.
Among the arrested people, 27 are male, nine are female and five are children. They all are hailed from Jessore, Khustia, Chuadanga, Narail, Sherpur and other districts, said Naeb Subeder Rafiqul Islam of Daulatpur camp’s BGB.
Later, the arrested were handed over to Benapole port thana police for legal action.
