Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 40,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from Jadimora area in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Saturday morning.
Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jar Al Zahid, commanding officer of BGB-2, said tipped off that a boat carrying a consignment of Yaba tablets was coming on the Naf River from Myanmar, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at about 6:00am.
Sensing the presence of the BGB team, the smugglers managed to flee leaving behind a packet containing 40,000 pieces of Yaba tablet.
Later, the border force recovered the packet from the boat.
