Noman Mosharef :
More than 4,000 Assistant Professor from 1,342 Kamil and Fazil Madrasas across the country are at risk to be promoted to post of principal due to the new regulation introduced recently by the Islamic Arabic University and the Ministry of Education.
According to the new regulation order issued on January 22, if a candidate wants to be promoted to principal, he needed to have three years experience as vice-principal (Arabic Subject) and 15 years as teaching experience at Kamil and Fazil madrasa.
Similarly, if an aspirant wants to apply for vice-principal, he has to ensure that he has three years experience as Assistant Professor (Arabic Subjects) and 12 years teaching experience.
Many agitated teachers said, there is no chance to apply for principal post as they have no experience as vice-principal. As a result, the qualified teacher would not get chance to become a principal.
They said, in the new regulation the educational qualification has been relaxed for the post of principal at Kamil/Fazil madeasa. Before the regulation there were mandatory rules to have first class in Kamil examination to apply for the post of vice-principal and principal. But now that condition has been withdrawn and imposed Kamil pass only.
As a result, less qualified persons will enjoy the opportunity while meritorious will be deprived.
Bhola’s Charfassion Karamotia Kamil (M.A) madrasa’s Assistant Professor Md Nurul Amin said, it is tragic that a large number of meritorious teachers will be deprived of their rights.
He said following the new regulation less qualified persons will enjoy the opportunity using political connections.
