BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday accused the government of starting arrest-campaign against the party men indiscriminately across the country.
“More than 400 leaders and activists of BNP were arrested in a week and cases were filed against our party men under Special Act,” Rizvi said it in a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan office.
He said that leaders and activists of the party and its front and associate organisations had been arrested unabated without any
legal documents in different districts. Cases are being filed against the party leaders and the activists by the government. Old cases against them are also being revived, he added.
Rizvi said the government was suffering from panic and that is why it has started arresting and filing false cases against BNP leaders and activists.
The BNP leader said, the nature of complaints being identical, there is no doubt that the cases were pre-planned.
