The Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Hayat-Ud-Dowllah Khan has cancelled nomination papers of 40 candidates out of 86 in six seats of Brahmanbaria after thorough scrutinising of their documents.
On Sunday, 2 December from 10am to 4pm, the nomination papers of total 86 candidates for six parliamentary constituencies were scrutinised in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
The returning officer Hayat-Ud-Dowllah Khan confirming the matter and said that the said nomination forms had been rejected as in one percent of voters’ supporting signed list was found faulty and papers of having no income tax return and municipality tax.
In Brahmanbaria-1 (Nasirnagar), nomination of two candidates out of eight were cancelled and they are- independent candidate Syed Nazrul Islam and Bangladesh Nationalist Front candidate Md. Monzu Mia.
In Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail-Ashuganj), nomination of 11 candidates out of 27 were cancelled and they are- independent candidate Shahjahan Alam Saju, Syed Tanvir Hossain, Anisur Rahman, Md. Shafiullah Munsi, Md. Ashraf Uddin, Md. Mokhlesur Rahman and Md. Gias Uddin, BNP candidate Abu Asif Ahmed and Akhter Hossain, Bangladesh Islami Front candidate Md Mohiuddin Mollah and Gono Forum candidate Shah Mofiz.
