Government Railway Police (GRP) have arrested a person and recovered 40 gold bars worth Tk2.40 crore under his occupation at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on Friday morning.The arrested man has been identified as Shahin, 38.
Kamalapur GRP police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Majid said: “Acting on a tip-off, a team of GRP challenged Shahin and recovered the gold bars weighing 4.700 kilograms searching his body around 7:30am.”
The detainee, Shahin, arrived there by
Turna Nishita train around 7:00am.
Police sources said that, acting on a tip-off, police searched the body of the man at Kamalapur Station and found the gold bars and nabbed the smuggler.
