Campus Report :
A total of 40 meritorious under-graduate students from different academic years of Dhaka University have received Sumitomo Corporation Scholarship, Japan. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held on Wednesday at Old Senate Room of the university.
Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh Hiroyuki Minami, General Manager of the Sumitomo Corporation Hiroyuki Watabe and CSR Representative of the Corporation Hiroki Kanai were present on the occasion as special guests. Deputy General Manager of the Sumitomo Corporation Ali Ershad declared the names of awardees and Deputy Registrar of Dhaka University Jiban Kumar Mishra moderated the program.
Awardees of different years are: first year (Hons.)- Md. Alamgir Hossain (English), Asia Haque (Physics), Nurun Naher (Accounting & Information Systems), Sugandha Jesmin (Marketing), Mahmuda Sultana (Management Studies), Kazi Mahbuba Ahmed (Economics), Ema Sultana Charu (Public Administration), Syed Hasan Imtiaz (Genetic Engineering & Bio-Technology), Sirajum Munira (Pharmacy) and Jinher Zahedi (IBA)
