A total of 40 under-graduate students of different academic years of Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday received Sumitomo Corporation Scholarship, Japan.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed the scholarships among the recipients at a function at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus.
Treasurer Prof Md Kamal Uddin chaired the function while Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Naoki Ito and General Manager of the Sumitomo Corporation Ichiro Takahashi addressed it as special guests. Scholarship recipients are:First year (Honours)- Rubiaat Hasan Sawon (Law), Sohanul Islam (Accounting and Information Systems), Mohaimanul Haque (Marketing), Rakibul Islam and Chanchal Mahmud (International Business), Mst Fatiha Khatun (Organization Strategy and Leadership), Bushra Rahman and Tanjila Akter (Soil, water and Environment ), Ariful Islam (Leather Engineering and Technology) and Sayma Alam (Nutrition and Food Science), Second year (Honours)- Jannatul Ferdous (Finance), Rasel Mia (Management Information Systems), among others.
