A total of 40 under-graduate students from different academic years and disciplines of Dhaka University (DU) were awarded for Sumitomo Corporation Scholarship, Japan, said a university press release on Thursday.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function, held at Professor Abdul Matin Choudhury Virtual Classroom on the campus.
Advisor of the Sumitomo Corporation Khondker Ali Ershad announced the names of awarded students while General Manager of the corporation Naoto Yamada addressed the function as special guest.
Acting Director of DU Planning and Development Office Jiban Kumar Mishra conducted the programme.
The VC congratulated the awardees and thanked the Sumitomo Corporation authorities for providing scholarship to DU meritorious students, the release added.
