A court in Chattogram directed to sent 40 activists of BNP to jail custody in a cocktail attack case after their surrender before the court of Session Judge Sheikh Ashfaqur Rahman recently.
The alleged accused are the leaders of thana and ward level committees. Public Prosecutor of Metropolitan Session Judge Adv Fakruddin Chowdhury told media that these accused persons surrendered before the court as alleged in a sabotage case .
The Session Judge ordered them to send jail custody rejecting the bail petitions .Court sources said in separate cases, these BNP activists granted anticipatory bail from high court and after expiry of bail period, they surrendered before the lower court and prayed for bail.
