4 villages brought under electrification in S Surma

Four villages under South Surma upazilas in the district were brought under rural electrification network yesterday by Palli Biddut Samity (PBS) Sylhet, an organization of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB).
Alhaj Mahmudussamad Chowdhury MP formally inaugurated the electrification switching on separate buttons of the electric boards set up in the four villages for connecting those with the rural electrification network.
The four villages are Paschimbhag,Foridpur,Mirerchak and Jajor under Dakshin surma upazila.
A large number of local people from all walks of life including government officials and local public representatives were present at the inaugural functions.
He also informed that a total of 209 rural houses, 20 commercial houses, three rice mills, 11 irrigation machineries and two mosques in the five villages were connected with the rural electrification network Saterday.
The long-cherished demand of the local people have been fulfilled by bringing the four villages under the rural electrification network, the GM of PBS Sylhet added.
