Members of Chittagong district police in a raid arrested four employees of SA Paribahan with 10,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from a vehicle of SA Paribahan at Shah Amanat CNG station on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway at 11 pm last night.
The arrestees were identified as driver Sharif Ullah, 51, employee Shah Alam, 40, Kanu Lal Das, 60, and Foysal,31, all hailing from Noahkhali district.
On receipt of secret information, a team of Patiya thana police led by Mohammad Shamim, Assistant Police Superintendent, Patiya circle raided a Chittagong bound covered van in front of Shah Amanat CNG station on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazaar highway at 11 pm on Saturday and arrested them with the Yaba tablets, said Refayet Ullah, officer in Charge of Patiya thana.
Police detained the covered van. A case was filed with patiya thana in this connection.
