Four teachers of two coaching centres at Singair municipal area given seven days jail and a female teacher fined Tk 20,000 on charge of private tuition defying government restriction to check Corona Virus spread.
The teachers are : Al-Mamun, Hafizur Rahman, Monirul Islam, Khairul Islam and Sheuli Akhter.
Judge of mobile court and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Runa Laila gave the order on Wednesday afternoon.
Sources said that two coaching centres situated at the municipal area were giving coaching to the students disobeying the government restrictions to check Corona Virus.
On information, the UNO along with police conducted drive in the coaching centres and detained the five teachers.
Later the mobile court gave seven day’s jail to four teachers and fined Tk 20,000 to the female teacher.
Meanwhile, Secondary and Higher Education Department of Education Ministry said that all the educational institutions were closed down on March 18 for the protection of the students and to stop spread of Corona Virus. Directive was also given to the students to stay at home.
