4 teachers, 14 students receive Dean’s Award of DU Science Faculty

A total of 14 students of various Departments under the Faculty of Science of Dhaka University (DU) have received ‘Dean’s Award’ for their outstanding academic results in the honors examination of 2012.Besides, four teachers of the faculty have also been awarded the ‘Deans Award’ for their extra-ordinary contributions in original research and writing books.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed certificates among the awardees as the chief guest at a function held today at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban here.
He also urged the students to play the pioneering role to eradicate discrimination from the society.
Awardees teachers are: Prof Dr Golam Mohammad Bhuiyan (Theoretical Physics), Prof Dr Md Aftab Ali Shaikh (Chemistry), Assistant Prof Dr Hasinur Rahaman Khan (ISRT) and Lecturer Dr Md Zavid Iqbal (Bengali). Awardees students are: Jyoti Prokash Biswas (Physics), Farhana Ahmed Simi, Shirin Provat, Zakir Hossine, Sajal Chakroborty, Md Arafatur Rahman (Mathematics), Md Ataur Rahman (Chemistry), Shahnaz Nilima, Sharmin Akter, Karmrun Naher Keya, Rehana Akther, Kanchan Kumar Sen (Statistics, Biostatistics and Informatics), Ajmery Jaman and Humayera Islam (ISRT).
