Four teams share lead after te completion of the second round of the CJKS-Borotakia Chess League-2016 organised by Chittagong District Sports Association is now being held at M A Aziz Stadium Bhaban in Chittagong.
The latest league leaders are Kwality Sports Club, Agrabad Naojoan Club, Friends Club and Boalkhali Upajela Krira Sangostha.
The 2nd round games were held on Sunday morning.
In 2nd round Kwality Sports beat Bangladesh Railway Rangers by 3-1 points, Agrabad Naojoan beat Bakolia Ekadosh by 3-1 points, Friends Club beat PDB Recreation Club by 3-1 points and Boalkhali Upajela beat Little Brothers by 31/2-1/2 points.
Earlier Chittagong City Mayor and General Secretary of CJKS Alhaz A. J. M. Nasir Uddin inaugurated the event as chief guest.
Alhaz Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation and Additional General Secretary of CJKS were present as special guests.
A total of 18 teams are participating in the event. GM Niaz Murshed and IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin are participating with Kwality Sports, IM Abu Sufian Shakil and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag are participating with Agrabad Naojoan.
The 3rd round games will be played tomorrow afternoon. Kwality Sports will play with Boalkhali Upajela and Agrabad Naojoan face Friends Club.
