A couple and their two minor daughters received burn injuries at their house in a fire incident at Chawkbazar in the city early Thursday.
The victims are: Rezaul Karim, 27, his wife Rani, 22, and their daughters-Ankia, 4 , and Sanzida Jui, 4. They were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).”We suspect an electrical malfunction caused the fire,” said Kaniz Fatema, Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Chawkbazar Zone.
Quoting doctors, DMCH Police Outpost’s Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia said Karim suffered 14 percent burns and Rani 26 percent, while Anika has 26 percent burns and Jui suffered 47 percent burns.
