4 of a family among 8 killed in lightnings

At least eight persons including four of a family in Chandpur were killed in separate lightnings strike in the country on Sunday.
In Chandpur, four members of a family including two children were killed after a thunderstorm struck them in Boro Station Molhead area of Chandpur.
The deceased were identified as Wahida Begum, 60, her daughter Rehana Begum, 35, Rehana’s son Sabbir, 14 and grand daughter of Wahida Begum Samia, 10.
Local sources said that, four family members went on an outing to Boro Station Molhead area at noon. All of a sudden, rains started pouring down and a lightning strike on four of them, rendering them injured. Locals rescued them to Chandpur Government
General Hospital, but doctors pronounced them dead. Bodies were kept at the hospital morgue. Next steps will be taken in this regard, Mizanur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Chandpur said.
Visiting the site, Chandpur Deputy Commissioner Mazedur Rahman Khan told the Banglanews that family members of the deceased were given a donation of Taka 30,000. Bodies will be handed over to family members after getting post-mortem report.
In Bagerhat, a farmer named Bimal Mistri, 55, was killed when a thunderbolt struck him in Morelganj upazila of the district on Sunday.
K M Azizul Islam, Inspector of Morelganj Police Station confirmed the news to the media.
In Magura, a construction worker named Biplob Biswas was killed and another person was injured after a thunderbolt struck in Jamabazar area under Mohammadpur upazila of the district on Sunday.
In Rajbari, a farmer named Arzad Ali, 56, was killed in a lightning strike in Baliakandi upazila of the district on Sunday.
