4 of a family among 5 killed in Sirajganj road crash

Five people, including four of a family, were killed and another was injured as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw crashed into a bus at Mulibari level-crossing on the western side of Bangabandhu Bridge approach road in Sadar upazila on Monday night.
All the five deceased were the auto-rickshaw passengers hailing from Belkuchi upazilla. Two of them were identified as Razzak, 65, and his daughter Rosina, 30.
Officer-in charge of Bangabandhu Bridge west-side police station Helal Uddin said the accident took place when a Chapainawabganj-bound bus of ‘Shaymoli Paribahan’ from Narayanganj rammed the auto-rickshaw around 12:30am killing five of the six passengers of the auto-rickshaw, including its driver, on the spot.
The lone injured was taken to Sirajganj General Hospital. Earlier on Sunday, 16 people were killed at the same place when a Bogra-bound bus of ‘Sabbir Paribahan’ from Chittagong collided with a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Azad Paribahan’ from Sayedpur.
