Staff Reporter :A team of a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four muggers along with Tk 4.65 lakh and Indian rupees 1.39 lakh, some national identity cards and bank cheques in the city’s Mirpur and Mohakhali areas early Tuesday.The detained persons have been identified as Masud Rana, 39, Quamrul Hasan, 30, Badsha Mia, 28, and Nayan, 28.RAB Legal and Media Wing Director ATM Habibur Rahman said that a special team of the elite force detained the muggers along with the Bangladeshi and Indian currencies during the early morning drive. Besides, some bank cheques Tk 4.65 lakh and 1.39 Indian rupees and a number of bank cheques and national identity cards (NID) were also seized from their possession, he said.The muggers were detained for their alleged involvement with the mugging of Tk 47 lakh in the capital, Rahman said. The official said that muggers snatched around Tk 47 lakh after stabbing an owner of a money exchange agency in the city’s Niketan area on July 1, 2014.
