At least 4 more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Rajshahi, at least two including a minor child and a motorcyclist were killed in separate road crashes in Rajshahi city and Godagari upazila on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Joy, 10, son of one Shamidul of Sarigachha area of the city and Rakib, 22, son of Shamsul Haque of Muraripur area of Poba upazila of Rajshahi.
Joy and his father were going for fishing on
Saturday. A sand-loaded truck hit them leaving the child dead on the spot.
In Godagari, another Rakib was killed in a separate road accident in Shaheed Firoz Chattar area.
A cow-laden vehicle was going towards Godagari from Rajshahi, while Rakib was walking around the motorcycle in Shahid Firoz Chattar area.
Meanwhile, the vehicle rammed the motorcycle and Rakib was critically injured in the incident.
Later he was brought to Godagari Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Godagari police station Jahangir Alam confirmed the news to media.
In Kurigram, a minor girl named Latifa Begum, 8, was killed in a road crash when a tractor rammed her in Kurigram’s Rajarhat upazila.
The accident took place on Saturday in the Upazila’s Char Khitabkha on Saturday noon.
Latifa is the daughter of one Noor Islam of Ghadiyaldanga union.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajarhat Police Station (OC) Krishna Kumar Sarker confirmed the matter to media.
In Madaripur, a motorcyclist named Awal Khan was killed in a road accident when a face to face confrontation happened in Madaripur Sadar Upazila of the district.
The accident occurred at Samodharer Katherpool on the Dhaka-Barisal Highway on Saturday noon.
Officer-in-Charge of Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station Kamrul Hasan confirmed the matter to media.
